Portrait Duel

Cosina CSM, Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 80mm f/1.8 loaded with Kodak Gold 200 vs Fuji XT-2, Fujinon 56mm f/1.2 using X-Trans III.

Which one do you prefer?

  1. Both pleasing to look at but it’s got to be the film portrait, is that veiling flare? So much more atmospheric than the more modern Fujinion

    1. There is a bit of flare and also some branches were so close to the lens that they melded away completely.

  2. I would say “swap the positions”. Old tech portrait taken against the light is not the best option. And Fujinon will perform better there. As for now, we compare apples to oranges. For me they are both fruit, and both nice.

    1. Yes, they are quite different. Film vs digital, full frame vs APS-C. But they both have comparable field of view and depth of field. There is no point to make here, I just find it fun to put the apple next to the orange.
